“ You cannot escape us '': Devolver plots to release a game on the release date of GTA 6, whatever it is when it is

While all the other publishers extend from the new GTA 6 release date, Devolver Digital is determined to have its own “Doom Crossing” moment.
This weekend, Devolver Shared a message on X In response to the announcement of the release date of Grand Theft Auto 6, with the worrying message: “You cannot escape us. May 26, 2026 that's it.”
This challenge was a follow -up of a post in March where Devolver swore with casualness: “I'm going to release a game exactly the day and the time that GTA 6.”
Devolver has not yet announced which game he opposed to GTA 6. The publisher is known for his irreverent industry cascades, but there could be something in terms of if he finds the same media threshing mutually venerated by Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Doom Eternal on March 20, 2020.
This shared release date was remarkable for the comic contrast – as with the Barbie and Oppenheimer films – so all that Devolver will land will probably be an extremely different game from GTA 6.
Devolver has published spectacular independent games, notably Cult of the Lamb, Death's Door, The Talos Principle, Gray and The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood. If someone can successfully launch an independent game the same day as GTA6, it's probably him.
The mystery to come to the new date of release of May 26, 2026 of GTA 6 could be almost anything. We know Enter the Gungeon 2 is planned for a 2026 version, although Hotline Miami 3 could be a candidate more suited to a theme (however, a third episode of the series has not yet been announced).
The situation could become particularly spicy if GTA 6 is again delayed, allowing Devolver to release your game in time and boast or delay it unnecessarily to stay faithful to his word.
At the very least, Devolver could get a good performance of PC players, because GTA 6 will probably not even be on PC on launch day.
