Some Illinois Democrats are doing their best to maintain pressure on Trump administration, hoping to cause changes.

The emphasis was put on the corridor of avenue Milwaukee, which houses a number of small businesses. Many feel the price pinch and hope that things are soon trying.

At the Magnifico Coffee, managed by the family in Avondale, they are all about a good cup of Joe.

“The coffee is part of my inheritance. I am Colombian. So we grew up drinking coffee,” said the co-owner of Magnifico Coffee Angelica Acebedo-Frint.

But the price on specialized beans that they import from South America mean that troubles are preparing for their business, their costs increasing about 10%.

“We pinch our budget a little, but we try to hold back as much as possible, to transmit any additional cost to our customers. Because we know, you know, sometimes like coffee, you know, it's essential, but we don't want to make it too expensive,” said Acebedo-Frint.

“The coffee is great, the donuts are even better,” said Senator Dick Durbin.

After their stop at the cafe, Durbin, the deputy Deliah Ramirez and others made a walk in avenue Milwaukee, visiting several other small businesses, to learn more about the impact of the prices.

“The prices certainly scare us,” said Alan Yuen, who has a Chinese friendship.

The Yuen restaurant was founded by his father decades ago.

The price war with China arrives at home, with prices of various sauces and arrow food.

“We are afraid that, in the very close future, the price will be more than double. And how are we going to survive?” Said Yuen.

Congress Democrats say they will continue to repel.

“And I think the pressure, the conversations, the town halls work,” said Ramirez, a democrat representing Chicago and the West suburbs.

“People understand that it is a change that can be a loss of jobs at the start of the recession. So I think the counterpoup leads to certain Republicans twice twice following the Maga line,” said Durbin.

While the Democrats make the little that they can influence things in Washington, business owners look at economic swings, hoping for stability, so that they can focus on what they do best: to serve their customers.
