The meeting with Al-Sharaa, which lasted approximately half an hour and was the first time in a quarter of a century that the leaders of the two nations met, won an important victory for the emerging government of Al-Sharaa, one day after Trump's decision to raise longtime sanctions from the country tidy by the war.

He also gives legitimacy to a leader whose past as a jihadist chief affiliated to Al -Qaeda – Al -Sharaa cut links with the group in 2016 – had made the Western nations maintain him remotely.

Abraham's agreements were the centerpiece of the achievements of Trump's foreign policy during his first mandate.
