The Trump administration cuts all future federal funding in Harvard

The current war between the Trump administration and the Harvard University has taken a new turn, the government sending Harvard a letter which, in the midst of what seems to be a crop crop crop ranting, announces that the university will not receive other research subsidies. The letter potentially suggests that Harvard could see restored funding by “containing a federal law for a long time”, but the previous requests of the administration included conditions which went far beyond those required by law.

The letterSent by the Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, makes somewhat difficult to say exactly what the government wants, because most of the text is a disturbed diatriber written in maga-esse Florida. You do not have to go beyond the first paragraph to have the feeling that it is less a framework of financing conditions than a dissemination of grievances:

Instead of using these funds to advance the education of its students, Harvard engages in a systemic model of violation of federal law. Where do many of these “students” come from, who are they, how do they go to Harvard, or even in our country-and why is there so much hatred? These are questions that we must answer, among many others, but the biggest question of all is: why will Harvard not give simple answers to the American public?

Should Harvard answer these questions so that funding is restored? It is not clear.

From there, the letter changes subject so often that it becomes difficult to remember that billions of dollars in funding to some of the most eminent researchers in the world are at stake. On the first page only, the letter complains that a class of mathematics Harvard Configure to manage the cocovable gaps In the mathematics skills of incoming students is a repair course that should not be necessary, given the supposed standards of the university. The resignation of the former president of Harvard, as well as his hires of the faculty, also make appearances. (Said that hires being compared to “the hiring of the captain of the Titanic to teach navigation”).
