The 1st year student is launching business to collect funds for the Huntington Humane Society

Huntington, ind. (WPTA) – A first level in 21 Country launched a bracelet company to give all the money collected at the Huntington Humane Society.

Avery Wilson has always had a love for animals, so when her mother asked if she wanted to sell her bracelets during the showcase of her school, Avery decided to go further.

“She had the idea of ​​making bracelets that her friends had taught her to do,” said Ashley, Avery mother. “And then she told me that she wanted to give the funds. I thought it was quite special. ”

Avery decided that all the money raised in the sale of his bracelets would go to the Huntington Humane Society.

Avery ended up collecting $ 300 for the refuge.

“We receive a good amount of donations day after day,” said Jenna Strick, executive director of the Huntington Humane Society. “But when we receive this kind of donation, from a first student, who stands out beyond the others.”

With his gift, Avery spends his free time reading to animals in the refuge.

“So I bring a book and the dogs, the dogs come to see the pages,” explains Avery.

Strick says that it is children like Avery who love animals, who will keep the refuge prospering for the years to come.

“All our staff was so excited to see the big check that came to us, and all the manual work that Avery put to help our animals,” explains Strick.
