The National Small Business Week starts in Hyde Park in Chicago with US Small Business Administration, Mayor Brandon Johnson

Chicago (WLS) – Chicago launched the national week of small businesses on Monday on the southern side of the city.

Local officials have stressed the fact that small businesses help create the character of Chicago and build a strong local economy.

National Small Business Week takes place until May 9 and is sponsored by the US Small Business Administration.

“SBA is happy to celebrate small businesses in Illinois that feed local economies, create jobs and build resilient communities,” said Willette Legrant, director of the SBA Illinois district.

The Chicago Department of Business and Consumer Protection will host webinaries and stimulate social efforts throughout the week.
