After weeks of growing tension between Trump and Zelensky, their oval office meeting marks a major change in American foreign policy. During Trump's first term, there was a feeling that we, the allies, “could simply wait [Trump] Out, ”said Ashley Parker last night. In their opinion, the “fever nightmare would end after four years”. But now, with the realignment by Trump of the country's global position, there is a feeling that “Europeans will have to respond accordingly in a world where they can no longer believe that they can count on America as an ally”.
