The crook drains $ 5,050 of the Bank of America account – why the bank says that the reimbursement does not occur: report

Bank of America (Bofa) would refuse to cover the losses of a student who lost his savings because of the crooks.

The anonymous victim says that he received an SMS which appeared as an alert from Bank of America telling her that $ 400 had been billed on his own in a Walmart and that he had a bank transfer awaiting a value of $ 9,400, reports The new WFSBs affiliated with CBS.

After responding, she received a phone call from a person she believed to be an employee of the Bank of America. The victim says that she was invited to a green light, promising her that the funds would have returned to his account.

Matt Antonetti, the victim's father, said he suddenly called Bofa after hearing that his daughter had transferred the funds, hoping that the transaction could still be stopped. But his efforts did not pay because his daughter's account was wiped out up to $ 5,050 the next day.

Antonetti says he spoke several times with Bofa to recover his daughter's funds.

“Yes, our daughter was the victim of a scam, but we immediately informed our bank, that we comfort our money to do the right thing.”

But Bofa denied Antonetti's complaint, saying that the bank “does not offer compensation in questions like this”.

When WFSB News tried to intervene on behalf of Antonettis, said a Bofa representative,

“In accordance with the federal law, we reimburse customers when a transaction is not authorized by the account holder. In cases like this, we try to recover the money from the bank which has received the wire, but there is no guarantee once the customer has authorized payment. Often, the bank which received the funds informs us that the money is no longer in the account which received the wire.”
