Small business spotlight: at Maryse

Fresno, California (KFSN) – Sampling of the raised style of French cuisine no longer requires theft.
“I grew up with French culture,” said owner Xiamy Ly-Yang. “I grew up with the tongue. I grew up with the bread. I just wanted to recreate a little of my childhood.”
From the atmosphere and tasty dishes to the chief himself, Lyang brings you the south of France.
“The chef likes to cook and wants to bring the authenticity of his city, where he was born and grew up, which is Bordeaux,” she said.
Located on McKinley and Fine Avenue in the center-east of Fresno, at Maryse specializes in French pastries, croissants, breakfast / lunch dishes and of course Espresso drinks.
The pancakes are at the top of the list of customer favorites.
“The pancakes are delivered with ham, cheese and eggs, or they are delivered with salmon, chicken or steak,” said Ly-Yang.
Inspired by time in the kitchen with his father and grandmother, you can see the artistic talent of chef Anthony Garrido and attention to details.
“We are not using an artificial flavor at all,” he said. “We only use fresh fruit.”
By experimenting with different flavors and what is in season, Garrido creates a unique culinary experience daily.
Flowing with flavor, the maintenance will bring you back for more.
Lyang also manages the non -profit organization next door, helping disabled adults to find a job.
Named from the woman she calls her second mother, she opened at Maryse to offer work to her customers.
The plan is to extend to the neighboring space and launch a dinner service by the end of the year.
Xiamy says it is her opportunity to create more changes for customers she helps.
