Sleepy Eye-It was a double Softball of Rivalry Crosstown between Sleepy Eye and Sleepy Eye St. Mary's Thursday at the Prairiew Park, the Indians returning with the sweep after winning 12-2 and 14-4, both in five rounds.
Taylor Berkner was the winning launcher in match 1. She made five rounds, granted two points deserved on three strokes, she walked five strikers and withdrew five strikers.
On the plate for Sleepy Eye, Paige Hala went 2 for 3 with three points scored and a product point. Brissa Hernandez went 3 for 3 with two points scored and two points produced. Callie Evers was 3 for 4 with two points scored and three points produced. Berkner went 3 for 3 with three products produced. Jaelynn Schauman went 2 for 3 with two products produced. Jace Schauman went 1 for 2 with an RBI. Megan Sellner went 2 for 3 with two points scored.
Natalie Zarn suffered the defeat of match 1 for the Knights. She launched four rounds, granted 12 points out of 17 strokes, walked four strikers and withdrew four.
On the plate of St. Mary's, Taylor Mathiowetz went 1 for 2 with a marked race, while Josie Helget went 1 for 3 with a marked race for the knights.
In match 1, Sleepy Eye scored races in four of the five innings. He had a race in the first, two in third, five in fourth and four in fifth round. He also raised 17 shots.
To start the game, Hernandez cracked a double on the left field. She stole third place and scored on Berkner's single at Center Field.
Hala was walking at the bottom of the third round. The double of Evers brought Hala to the house. Evers later scored in the Single field in Central de Jace Schauman. Sleeping eye led 3-0.
