Scottie Scheffler is the first member of the United States Ryder Cup

It is hardly a surprise, but it is nevertheless official.
On Wednesday, it was announced that the number one world Golfer Scottie Scheffler is the first person to qualify officially for the United States team Ryder Cup who will seek to go up what belongs to them in Bethpage Black later this year.
“Scottie continues to prove why he is player 1 in the world, presenting incredible coherence and domination from one week to week,” said US captain Keegan Bradley. “He is the ultimate team player and I have no doubt that he will be ready and motivated in September. I could not be more excited to have him as a member of the American team.”
…
“Representing the United States at the Ryder Cup was one of the greatest honors in my career, and I can't wait to do it for the third time in September,” said Scheffler. “I will do everything you need to help our team recover the cup and I can't wait to play in front of New York passionate spectators with Bethpage Black.”
This is the third consecutive appearance of the Ryder Cup to Scheffler and its second on American soil. Scottie made his debut in the event in 2021 when the United States team won Whistling Straits, a question I spoke in part to Jason Day this week.
It was this last Sunday that Scottie “surprised” the world by eliminating Jon Rahm in simple. With hindsight, we obviously know a lot about Scottie, but it was really the start of the race he is currently in the middle.
Time will say who sees Captain Keegan Bradley and chooses to join Scottie during the rest of the rest of the season.
