Sanford sports complex looking to capitalize on the busy weekend

Sioux Falls, SD (Dakota News Now) – This upcoming weekend is busy at Sanford Sports Complex. The annual matches of southern Dakota basketball stars take place, as well as the very first youth football tournament 7 against 7.
All this is to show that the falls of southern dakota and Sioux cause sensation on the sports scene of young people
Although the high school basketball season in the southern Dakota has come and has disappeared, for 40 seniors, the annual matches of the high school basketball stars are the last representatives of their schools.
The specialist in the main events of the Pentagon of Sanford, Ramsey Allen, said that he was happy that the Pentagon could cling to during the Mother's Day.
“It's great to see these 40 senior boys and girls being able to go out and have fun, and show their moms and dads on Mother's Day. It is a pretty cool experience for them,” said Allen.
But the sports scene of young people is developing in the city, because more and more teams and athletes come from the region to train and compete.
Sanford Sports Football Academy, Kurtiss Riggs, said they were hesitant to start their own 7 program against 7, but said it was progressing well and that they wanted to extend the program in the future.
“We came out, we saw some tournaments, and we thought we could do it better. We can be better than that. The first thing we did is that we hired very good coaches. We have high school coaches, guys who were trained at university,” said Riggs.
Allen said that the growth in the notoriety of All-Star games was in their minds, which makes the event something that other programs can hang on.
“During probably the game of boys, we will have our current progression league on our exterior shorts. They will have training and games. It is always fun to see the children who try to improve, try to progress and reach this level,” said Allen.
Riggs and Allen said they saw growth opportunities in the coming years because of these programs, creating more opportunities for the region's athletes.
