Amazon could start using humanoid robots to deliver packages

Amazon works on software for humanoid robots which could one day provide packages at the doors of customers.

The idea is that humanoid robots roll in Rivian Electric Vans (Rivian is a company of electric vehicles partly held by Amazon) and deliver packages to customers.

It is according to a new report of InformationWho claims that the project will soon start to test in Amazon facilities in San Francisco.

The project seems to be early, Amazon working on software and AI to supply robots, as well as to test several different humanoid robots, including those of the Chinese company Uniter.

Amazon mainly uses robots specific to objectives in its installations, but it has tested a humanoid robot called Digit from Agility Robotics for Warehouse Work Back in 2023.
