Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma's Badmaash Company, who will be 15 years old today, was a commercial success at the box office in 2010. The film, made with a budget of RS 20 crore, succeeded in the 50.96 crore worldwide. However, did you know that it was a film written by frustration while waiting for the right time to work on another film?

Parmeet Sethi, who was bored with his acting career, wanted to do something different and creativity. He decided to leave his television career at his peak and write a romantic drama. He wrote a film entitled Prince of Lahore involving India-Pakistan Angle to IT, which was also approved by Yash Raj Films. However, Parmeet was invited to wait a day when Adya was preparing for the release of her romantic film Rab ne bana di Jodi, with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. Later, when the time came to shoot the film by Parmaet, the 26/11 attacks rocked the country, which prevents Indians from going to Lahore to shoot a Bollywood film.

It was a time when Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan were in demand. However, Parmeet had his eyes on Shahid because he believed that the actor had a great range in the one who could easily draw both the role of a middle class boy as well as his extremely rich person while his film required a similar transformation.

“I think that Ranbir was making a similar film, Rocket Singh. So he was released. However, my first choice was still Shahid Kapoor. I was really hoping he said yes because at that time, he made his father's film.”

He added: “At the beginning, Shahid said no as he wanted to work on his father's film, but later, when he read the script, he dropped his father's film to make Badmaash's company.”

While Parmaet was very satisfied with the casting of Shahid, he was extremely skeptical about Anushka Sharma. “Aditya suggested the name of Anushka to me. He said, “Yaar, she is very good. You just meet it once. For me, his image was very uncomfortable because I watched it in Rab Banadi Jodi.

Parmeet told Screen: “I looked a lot. I wanted a guy who was young, funny and cute at the same time. Basically, the person who adds pleasure to the film. I had a lot, I took a lot of auditions. We had almost signed a 'Baden Star Ka Beta 'But he looked at the role of Shahid and it didn't work. Someone then suggested Vir Das. In his photos, he looked very old, but when I met him, he was everything I needed. »»
