Nick Saban, Cody Campbell, from Texas Tech, is said to be co -president of College Sports Study

The legendary coach of Alabama, Nick Saban and the chairman of the board of directors of Texas Tech, Cody Campbell, would have co -chair a commission that President Trump wishes to form increasing problems in university sports, according to several media reports.

Campbell is a former Raiders Red football player and one of the biggest donors in the school.

The lucrative collective, the image and resemblance of the Red Raiders, called the Matador Club, was co -founded by Campbell. He also recently sold his oil and natural gas company, Double Eagle, for $ 4.1 billion.

Campbell has also paved the way on the new $ 242 million in Tech dollars project in South Zone at Jones At & T Stadium and the stadium land is called Cody Campbell Field.

Athletics reported that Trump should be “very committed” to the Commission because “he considers the current state of university sports as a problem of national importance”.

Both The New York Times And Wall Street Journal indicated that the president weighed an executive decree specifically targeting the remuneration of athletes.

Yahoo! Sporty'Ross Dellenger was the first to point out that Trump provides for the broader commission to examine the future of university athletics, in particular questions such as transfer rules, zero payments, realignment of conferences and more.

Dellenger wrote that the group will include other university sports stakeholders, businessmen with links with university football and others.

It remains to be seen what type of reform could come from this commission and the details are mainly kept private for the moment, but its efforts will be led by Saban and Campbell of Texas Tech.
