Kim Kardashian to testify against “grandfather thieves” in Paris to more than $ 9 million in jewelry

Paris – Kim Kardashian will take the position in a Paris courtroom on Tuesday to testify against a gang of 10 people known under the name of “grandfather” who are accused of having stolen jewelry worth $ 9 million under the threat of a firearm in one of the most daring celebrities in modern French history.
Nearly nine years after the break -in of the star of reality, which has become the luxury of Mugul of Business Mogul at the Hôtel de Pourtalès, an anonymous building known as “without address” frequented by celebrities on list A, the star of reality will face the suspects accused of armed robbery, kidnapping and other criminal accusations.
Nicknamed the “grandfather thieves” by the French media because of their age, the suspects would have passed as a policeman before mastering the concierge, who was forced to act as a translator as they attached Kardashian to the luxury chamber.
Months after the theft made the headlines, Kardashian spoke of the incident during an episode of season 13 of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”.
“My door was open like this, then I saw two guys hold another guy in police uniforms, but just outside my room, 5 feet distance,” she told her sisters, Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian in an emotional conversation.
She said she saw the two men hold the concierge, who was handcuffed and had a key to her room. “What I heard afterwards is, they said, you know:” Where is the rapper's wife? ” Leave us the room! In French, ”she said, referring to her husband of the time, the artist Ye, formerly Kanye West.
The episode broadcast in March 2017 was seen 3.8 million times on the Youtube channel of E!.
Before the flight, Kardashian had published real -time updates of his hotel suite, showing a 20 -carat diamond ring, offered by Ye and the investigators believe that the gang followed it online, painting images, horodatages, geotags, before using old -fashioned criminal methods.
Most accused were arrested three months after the flight while the police launched a huge operation that involved gathering images of security cameras and DNA evidence. But the judicial process has been assailed by delays and many aging accused are now suffering from diseases and one of them has since died. Another is too sick to resist a trial.
Among the accused of the trial which started last month were Aomar Ait Khedache, 69, known as “Old Omar”, who is accused of being the brain of the plot. Her son and alleged swinging driver, Harminy, 37, was also charged with Didier “Blue Eyes” Dubreucq, 69.
Kardashian driver's brother in Paris, Gary Madar, 35, is accused of having provided the members of the alleged gangs with information on his fate and Christiane Glutin, 78, is accused of being an accomplice in the robbery.
Yunice Abbas, perhaps the best known defendant of the trial which detailed the theft in her book in 2021, “I kidnapped Kim Kardashian,” said last month. He told court that it was the first time that he really recognized the “trauma” he had caused his victim.
Gabrielle Nolin reported on Paris and Henry Austin from London.
