Man found guilty of having set fire to business

Shreveport, Louisiana (KSLA) – In less than two hours, a jury of six women, six men, recognized a man guilty of set fire to a business.

On May 8, a jury concluded Cross McCray, 23, guilty of having set fire to a company, a simple criminal fire on December 20, 2022. It was determined that McCray had caused a fire when he robbed his workplace on the 4100 block of Curtis Lane. Before leaving in a stolen vehicle, McCray returned to the building and set it on fire.

The fire caused damage, causing more than $ 500.

The jurors heard the testimony of the store director, an investigator of Shreveport Fire and an expert in the fingerprints of the Shreveport police. In addition, the jurors have heard of McCray's father, who testified for him.

McCray returns for conviction on June 17 and faces a fine of up to $ 15,000 and up to 15 years in prison for forced labor.
