James Comey under investigation for a position considered a potential threat to Trump's life

Washington – The Ministry of Internal Security and Secret Services are investigating an article on the social networks of the former FBI director James Comey, whom several US officials interpreted as calling on Thursday the assassination of President Donald Trump, the secretary of internal security, Kristi Noem.
In an article now deleted on Instagram, Comey shared a photo of what he described as a “shell formation” on a beach that formed the figures “8647”. The position was quickly sentenced by administration officials, republican legislators and Trump allies who said he was clearly aimed at Trump, the 47th President of the United States.
According to the Merriam-Wellet Dictionary, “ninety-six” can mean informally “to get rid”.
“The former FBI director in disgrace, James Comey, just called to the assassination of @potus Trump”, “Noem Written on x. “The DHS and the secret services are investigating this threat and will respond appropriately.”

A spokesperson for the secret service, who is part of the DHS, said that the agency “vigorously investigates everything that can be considered a potential threat against our protectors”.
“We are aware of the publications on the social networks of the former director of the FBI and we take rhetoric very seriously like this.
Taylor Budowich, deputy chief of staff of the White House, accused Comey of having extinguished “which can clearly be interpreted as a success on the United States in office”.
“It concerns us deeply and is taken seriously,” wrote Budowich on X.
The eldest son of the president, Donald Trump Jr., accused Comey of “asking causally that my father be murdered”.
Comey denied that his post was conceived as a threat, saying in a statement that he did not know that people were linking the digital arrangement specific to violence.
“I did not know that some people associate it with violence. It did not come to my mind when I saw it but I am opposed to violence in all circumstances, so I removed it,” he said.
