Having Martin Scorsese On board as an executive producer of “Homebound” is a dream moment, explains actor Ishaan Khatter, who knew the Master Filmmaker involvement with the Neeraj Ghaywan led by Neeraj Ghaywan Film for ten months but kept secret.

Khatter plays the main role in the film, which will have its world premiere in the United Nations category for the Cannes Film Festival, which will start from May 13.

“Homebound” is Ghaywan's second full feature film. The director made his debut with “Masaan” in 2015, which was also presented in the same segment in Cannes.

Khatter congratulated the filmmaker Payal Kapadia, who won the prestigious Grand Prix prize at the festival last year for his film “All we imagine as light”, for having brought the spotlight on Indian stories to Cannes.

“The world's projectors, especially in entertainment and the film industry, are on India in a very beautiful way that it has not been for many years. Bravo to Payal Kapadia and his film to open the way, in competition in the main competition after 30 years.

Khatter's enthusiasm for “Homebound” also stems from the collaborative process with Ghaywan, a director he has long admired.

“Homebound”, supported by Dharma Productions, also includes Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor.
