India accuses Pakistan of having raped the hours of the ceasefire after its announcement

The Indian government accuses Pakistan of having violated a cease-fire agreement which was reached earlier on Saturday.

In a statement, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of India said that the ceasefire “was violated by Pakistan. The Indian army retaliated and deals with this border intrusion”.

“This intrusion is extremely condemnable and Pakistan is responsible for it. We believe that Pakistan should understand this situation properly and take the appropriate measures immediately to stop this intrusion,” added Vikram Misri, the Indian Foreign Minister.

Misri's remarks come a few hours after President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced early Saturday that the United States had mediated a cease-fire contract between the two South Asian nations after days of combat in and around the disputed region of cashmere.

“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am happy to announce that India and Pakistan have accepted a complete and immediate ceasefire. Congratulations to the two countries for having used common sense and great intelligence”, Trump wrote In an article on Truth Social, shortly after Rubio published a statement announcing that the two nations “agreed with an immediate cease-fire and starting talks on a wide range of questions on a neutral site”.

Shortly after the announcement of the ceasefire, Tammy Bruce, spokesperson for the State Department, said in a statement that Rubio “offered us help to start constructive talks in order to avoid future conflicts”, but did not indicate when these talks would begin or where they would take place.

The foreign ministers of India and Pakistan confirmed the cease-fire agreement, with the Pakistani Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, writing In an article on X: “Pakistan and India have accepted a ceasefire with immediate effect. Pakistan has always sought peace and security in the region, without compromising its sovereignty and territorial integrity!”

At a press conference, Misri de l'Inda told journalists: “The two parties would cease all shots and military action on earth and in the air and the sea with an effect from 1700 hours of Indian hours today. Instructions were given on both sides to give this understanding.”

Later on Saturday, however, Omar Abdullah, chief minister of Jammu-et-Cachemire administered by the Indians, Written on x That he heard explosions in cashmere after the announcement of the ceasefire. The cause of the explosions was not immediately clear.

The Indian Ministry of Information and Radiation on Saturday has minimized the role of the United States in the mediation of a cease-fire, claiming that in an article on X, “the judgment of dismissal and military action between India and Pakistan was developed directly between the two countries”.

In a separate tweet, however, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Trump and the United States to “facilitate this result”, feeling more confused on the role of Trump administration in the ceasefire.

“We thank President Trump for his leadership and his proactive role for peace in the region. Pakistan appreciates the United States for facilitating this result, which we have accepted in the interest of regional peace and stability,” wrote Sharif.

He added: “We also thank Vice-President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for their precious peace contributions in South Asia.”

In its declaration, the Indian Ministry of Information and Radio also said that there was “no decision to speak on another question in another place”, despite the assertion of the US State Department according to which the two nations had decided “to start talks on a wide range of questions on a neutral site”.

The news comes only a few days after Pakistan began to cross the border in the contested region.

India said that at least 16 civilians had been killed since the start of the attacks, and Pakistan said that at least 31 people died after India launched air strikes to the cashmere administered by Pakistan on Thursday.

Tensions between the two nuclear powers intensified after a terrorist attack on April 22 at the cashmere administered by the Indians who killed 26 people. Indian officials said the militant groups responsible for this attack have links with Pakistan, who denied any involvement.
