The founder of the cryptocurrency lender Celsius Network was sentenced Thursday to 12 years in prison.
Alex Mashinsky, the former CEO of the Company, pleaded guilty of securities fraud and fraud in terms of raw materials in December.
Federal prosecutors said that Mashinsky had artificially increased the value of the Celsius token and enjoyed more than $ 48 million. Prosecutors led by American lawyer Jay Clayton also said that Mashinsky had misleaded customers Celsius safety.
