George Pickens helps Dallas' offensive, but will he repair it? Anyway, it's worth the bet

Dallas' cowboys came out of the NFL draft with one of the thinnest groups of NFL competence players.

It didn't seem pretty, but the cowboys also knew that the offseason was far from over.

The cowboys made a necessary and intriguing trade, sending a third -round choice in 2026 to the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as a late choice exchange, to obtain the George Pickens receiver.

There are luggage that accompanies the acquisition of Pickens – there is a reason why the Steelers buy it, although it is now very thin behind DK Metcalf from Pickens – but the cowboys had to do something. Their set of passes and running back sensors before trade was essentially the lamb of Ceedee and prays.

They must just hope to have the best of Pickens, which was not always easy to do for the Steelers.

The good and the evil of George Pickens

Pickens is an undeniably talented player. There are two seasons, he led the NFL with 18.1 yards per capture. He posted 16.3 yards by catching up in his career and already has a long circus capture coil in Downfield.

Pickens is also undeniably disruptive. There was always something.

At the end of a defeat of week 12 against the Browns of Cleveland, Pickens began to fight the Browns Greg Newsome II corner half while the Steelers launched a Mary's hailstorm. The fight ended up exceeding the back line of the goal area while the ball was incomplete. He encapsulated the three -year career from Pickens to Pittsburgh, where there were always signs of drama to accompany the big pieces.

The drama multiplies in Dallas. This is how the market is even in the quieter moments. If Pickens is not satisfied not to get the ball or take strange antisportive driving penalties, we will all hear about it.

The good news is that cowboys are used to noise. They just want the production that will go with it.

How can the cowboys offensive benefit from Pickens?

Before the Pickens trade, Cowboys' departure receivers outside the lamb were probably Jonathan Mingo and Jalen Tolbert. The best runners were Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders. The editorial staff of offensive lines is wise, but at some point, you need players who can score affected. Lamb cannot do everything.

In a perfect world, Pickens will give Dak Prescott a deep option in the offense, which will open things at the tight ends of Lamb and Dallas below. The lamb will always be the target pork, but at least it has help now.

And if the bet of cowboys does not work and Pickens does not integrate culturally or schematically, Dallas can get out of it quite easily. Pickens is over the last year of his agreement. There will probably be to talk about pickens who want an extension, but we will see if the cowboys are aimed at this before the season. If they let Pickens play and leave, the cost of a third round choice for a year is not ideal, but it is not the end of the world either. The Houston Texans granted a second round choice for Stefon Diggs last year and only obtained a year from him. It happens.

In a perfect world, Pickens is quietly accumulating the second season of 1,000 yards in his career and, at only 24, signed an extension with Dallas to be the Lamb's package in the coming years. However, there are risks. Pickens is not sure. Ask the Steelers.

But after not having approached the receiver in the NFL draft, the cowboys had to try something.
