Everyone knows the speedmaster. The moonwatch. The first chronograph that went to space and never returned. It is a legendary story in the world of WatchmakingAnd certainly, which established Omega as one of the marks of eminent watches to produce exquisite watches which are designed to do the work.
But in the professional trilogy of Omega, alongside the espionage soulepaster and the speedmaster defying gravity, there was a third watch. Built not for astronauts or divers, but for engineers, electricians and railways. His name was the Rail. And in 2025, he finally returned to the fold.
Omega revives the railmaster for 2025 with two new models
Launched for the first time in 1957, Omega returns to its famous story again to withdraw heritage gold, revealing two new Railmaster models for modern tool watch fans today. And this is certainly what we all expected: clean, compact, highly portable and faithful to the spirit of the original. It is a pure function, recalling the days when watches were designed to serve a goal.
The two new versions are dimensioned with a classic 38 mm, leaning in the utilitarian DNA of the railmaster. One is delivered with a gray dial and a subtle black gradient, associated with super-luminova white figures for net readability. The others do not even further in the heritage territory, with a textured beige dial, a small sub-cadran at 6 o'clock, a vintage lume and a leather nononappa golden brown. These are not designed watches, draw the attention of someone on the other side of the room; They are designed to work.
Master Chronometer Movements and advanced anti-magnetism
In 1957, the antimagnitim of the railmaster was already a technical show, with protection up to 1,000 Gauss (at a time when most watches have barely reached 60 years). In 2025, Omega completed the loop.
These new models are equipped with master chronometer calibers 8806 and 8804, offering magnetic resistance up to 15,000 Gauss; Fifteen times the protection of the original. And certified by Metas, the Omega movement is tested in real conditions, which, no doubt, more strict and more complete than COSC.

Regarding design, the new railmasters remain faithful to the restricted aesthetic of the original. No date window. No useless text. Just the Omega logo and the name Railmaster on the dial. A golden stallion for specially designed use watches that are made to perfection.
The boxes are polished and brushed, mixing the classic sports watch ending with subtle touches. Like all modern rails since 2003, the silhouette aligns with the Seamaster Aqua Terra, with symmetry, curved legs and an elegant wrist profile.
The steel bracelet has also been upgraded with redesigned connections and a new comfort adjustment system that does not require any tools. A leather strap option is also available, offering a slightly more dressed interpretation of the roots of the working class of the watch.
A timely return for a specially designed watch
It's funny to think that this almost 60 -year -old model before speedmaster could better adapt modern life. The railmaster was not built for space, of course. It was built for the earth. For people who work with their hands, around machines, around magnetic fields. People who needed their watch to do their work quietly and without hassle.

And this is something that we can all appreciate in 2025. Tool watches make a timely return to the world of collectorr. Look at the latest series of divers from Ulysse Nardin, or even the brand new Girard-Perregaux. People are after retro parts these days because they are more likely to withstand the time test.
You might not see it everywhere on Instagram. He has no link between tied bond or mission. But that may be what makes him great. Like the people for whom it was originally built, the railmaster continues to do the work. And now, more than ever, that's exactly what collectors are looking for.
