Nawazuddin Siddiqui has carved out a niche with his exceptional performances in some of the most memorable films and series. But do you know that the Gangs of Wasseypur star also worked as an interim coach and did not help Ranveer Singh that for his debut in Bollywood?
Nawazuddin talks about Ranveer's training
In an interview PinkvillaNawazuddin spoke of his acting journey where he spoke about his life before and after the super success of Anurag Kashyap's film in 2012 Gangs of Wasseypur. When he was asked if he had trained Ranveer Singh for the Baaja Baarat group in 2010, the actor replied: “For a while, yes, I had formed him. I had become a guy who would often take workshops. If someone wanted to become an actor and be launched, I was the essential person.”
However, he asked if he would take the credit for the skills of Ranveer Singh as a brilliant actor, Nawazuddin has this to say:
“Ranveer Singh is a very good actor. The game cannot be taught. It is not a magic potion. You have to discover it in yourself. He (Ranveer) had his own talent. Yes, you can be different ways of approaching, but ultimately, you have to walk it yourself,” added the actor.
Current Nawazuddin and Ranveer projects
Nawazuddin is currently seen in the Costao film. He plays the role of Costao Fernandes, a Goa customs agent who sacrificed everything to break a gold smuggling operation. Directed by Sejal Shah, the biographical drama also features Priya Bapat, Kishore, Hussain Dalal and Mahika Sharma in key roles. The film is streaming on Zee5.
Ranveer, on the other hand, is busy shooting for the film by Aditya Dhar Dhurandhar. It is a spying thriller in the context of Indian intelligence agencies, where Ranveer would play an R&W agent. The film also features Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Akshaye Khanna.
