Many companies are now faced with missing cash registers and costly repairs to the windows.

“Today is very frustrating because it is the weekend,” said Ryan Yu, owner of New Chinese Kitchen.

The typical precipitation for companies on a Sunday was hampered by cheeky night burglary that occurred in the southwest suburbs.

A surveillance video caught the moment when a group of delinquents made their way in a Michoacana ice cream store. The video showed them running in and out of the store, taking over money from the register before doing the same thing in a shopping center in Woodward Avenue in Downers Grove.

It is a worrying trend that the police have warned in recent weeks, and more of the same thing has happened during the night just at the bottom of the road in Woodridge.

“We received an ADT before appealing at 5.30 am saying there was an alarm going on, and we thought it was a false alarm,” said Shabbir Amiry, owner of the FMB grocery store.

Amiraly and his wife arrived at their grocery store on Sunday morning to find broken glass and missing money.

“We have been here for nine years, and we have never had this problem, so I don't know, it's very surprising in fact,” said Amiraly.

The Chinese restaurant in Yu next, was also robbed, with hundreds of stolen dollars, and it was also a huge blow for their operations on Sunday because their ordering system was also broken.

“Taking orders is very difficult,” said Yu. “We cannot print tickets. We have to take phones and come back to the basics and things, so it's very difficult.”

The 10 companies struck by night burglaries added to a long list of Smash and-Grab burglary that barely occurred in Mokena and Tinley Park a few weeks ago.

“The hassles, the broken glass, we have to solve this problem, and we have to face insurance,” said Yu. “We have to face many things.”

The owners of small businesses said they lacked ideas to protect their stores.

“A small business like us, you know, a mom and a pop, I mean that it just adds more expenses,” said Amiraly.

No one has been arrested and the police continue to investigate to see if all burglaries are linked to the same suspects.
