With summer and outdoor shopping days on the way, a recent Yelp list aims to direct buyers who seek to support small local businesses in the right direction.
Fortunately for residents of the Chicago region, five companies in the city have reduced the 100 best local companies in Yelp in 2025, with several other midwest locations also appointed on the list.
The list has identified some shared trends among the companies included, highlighting a welcoming atmosphere, the personal links between employees and buyers as well as good value at a moment of economic uncertainty.
Companies that have made the unlissed list have been separated into five categories: domestic and automotive services, food, retail stores, personal care and well-being, and family and pets.
Two Chicago companies were included in the first category of the list, with the construction of 2 guys based in Pilsen and a faithful man. The companies in this section have been praised for more convenience, clear communication and a developed reputation.
Regarding personal care and well-being, another pair of companies from Chicago has received high honors, with central IPOP and Lincoln Square Glow in Lincoln Park included.
Chicago's latest inclusion on the list came in the Family & Petts category, with Tucker Pup Pet Resort in the West honored loop for its luxurious services offered to fur friends.
Although no other Illinois company has been appointed to this year's list, there is still one more place in the Chicago region that buyers can consult: the albanese Confizery candy store, located in Merrillville, Indiana.
Families in search of a dose of nostalgia can find bulk candies with a plethora of producers, chocolates and nuts made locally.
