Chelsea refers Jadon Sancho to Man United after missed discussions – Source

Jadon Sancho should return to Manchester United after Chelsea did not agree with personal conditions in a permanent agreement, a source told ESPN.

Chelsea will be forced to pay a penalty of 5 million pounds Sterling ($ 6.7 million) to break their initial loan agreement with United, which contained the obligation to buy Sancho for an amount of around 25 million pounds sterling.

The source added that Chelsea asked Sancho to accept a significant reduction in his salary – more than £ 300,000 per week – to put it online with the Stamford Bridge wage structure, but the talks have broken down.

Sancho has played 41 appearances for Chelsea all competitions, recording five goals and 10 assists. The 25-year-old scored the third goal of Chelsea's 4-1 victory against Real Betis in the UEFA league final which obtained the first Todd Boehly club trophy and the property of Clearlake Capital.

The winger should now assess his options with several European clubs having shown interest in sign Sancho.

Sancho is contracted with Chelsea until June 30, but the club is expected to leave London next week for the United States before the club World Cup.

Their first match is against Lafc on June 16 in Atlanta.
