Business owners along the center reacted to the Operation of the National Guard

The reaction is mixed with the deployment of troops alongside Albuquerque police.

Albuquerque, nm – While the National Guard is preparing for the operation of Zia Shield, we wanted to hear business owners along the central.

Beginning the Memorial Day weekend, the New Mexico National Guard will begin to help the Albuquerque police so that they can focus on patrols.

“Honestly, I don't really know what to expect, but everything is better than nothing, so I can't wait for something to happen,” said Kiko Torres, the owner of Masks y Mas.

“As long as the National Guard is not authoritarian and there is no violence on their part towards the homeless who need help, so I am for that,” said Chris Losack, the owner of Astro Zombies.

Business owners in Nob Hill say that things in Kob are not bad in their region, but further central is a different story.

“Here in our small neighborhood, we do not see too much, there is a good police presence, but I noticed in the street that it gets, you know, in small corridors, it becomes dangerous with crime,” said Torres.

“We are doing well in this neighborhood, but I know that more east of Central has it really bad and I know that the police have their hands full,” said Losack.

We made a trip at the bottom of the center and met Kristopher Miller with the RCC collision center. He is no stranger to the crime around his property but does not know that custody is the answer.

“I do not see what it will do, they cannot stop anyone, they cannot clean it. APD cannot even manage it,” said Miller, the owner of the RCC Collision Center.

He said that an operation along Central will only move people who experience roaming in different Albuquerque games and thinks it is time for long -term solutions.

“They just need to do something and do something that will work. They haven't done anything that will work, they just chase them and they come back,” said Miller.
