KEARNEY – After national research, the University of Nebraska in Kearney has selected Brooke Evick as the next dean of the Business and Technology College.
She will go to this role on July 1, pending approval of the Board of Regents from the University of Nebraska. Encick succeeds Tim Jares, who retired after being dean of the college for six years.

Encick, a former student of Loper and a third generation teacher of UNK, joined the faculty here in the fall of 2017, continuing the inheritance of his grandfather Maynard and Father Don, both longtime teachers who have devoted themselves to advancing education at Kearney State College / Unk.
Encick obtained a baccalaureate in management and master's degree in UNK affairs administration, then completed his doctorate in organizational behavior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She taught at St. Mary University in San Antonio, Texas, for almost 20 years before returning to her Alma Mater.
Currently, she is a professor in the UNK and dean management department of Faculty and Strategic Initiatives Strategic Initiatives Business and technology collegeWhere she led efforts in the development of the curriculum and the commitment of the teachers.
As a Educator, Encick emphasizes active learning and innovation, engaging students in the knowledge construction process. His lessons often include experiential learning exercises that encourage the commitment and development of students.
She has received numerous distinctions of teaching during her career, including the Exceptional Teaching Prize for the UNK College of Business and Technology and the Exceptional Educator Prize for the innovative and creative education of the Academy of Educational Leadership. In December, it was recognized by Leland Holdt / Security Mutual Life Distinguished Faculty Award – the most prestigious honor of the Faculty to Unk.
By emphasizing entrepreneurship and small businesses, Evick's search completes the instructions in his class. She is a member of the Institute for Global Business Research and Beta Gamma Sigma, and her research has been widely published in journals such as the Global Journal of Entrepreneurship and International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal.
Encick received multiple distinguished research prizes from the Institute for Global Business Research and Academy of Entrepreneurship, and his work was presented in the New Frontiers Magazine de l'Unk highlighting the best research and creative activities on the campus in 2022. She is also graduated from the variety of campus and levels of the campus and development systems Nebraska, and system levels.
