Bay Area News Group Girls Athlete of the Week

Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) Girls Survey of the athlete of the week.

Throughout the academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who have stood out in the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.

This week, we consider the performances of April 28-May 3.

The polls end at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Vote as many times as you wish so far without using robots or any other artificial voting method.

Votes by email and after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted.

The winners are announced every Friday online and in the printed edition of the sports sections of Mercury News and East Bay Times.

Candidates for future surveys of the week athlete can be nominated at Lycée@bayareewsgroup.com.

We accept appointments until 11 a.m. every Monday.

We also examine the statistics subject to Maxpreps by coaches / statisticians of the team.

Going through nominees:

Sawyer Bohlig, Miramonte Lacrosse: The junior achieved 10 goals and seven assists in a 17-11 victory against Campolindo and a rout of 15-5 from Northgate. It started this week with 67 goals and 35 assists on the season, ranking among the leaders of the NCS, according to the statistics reported in Maxpreps.

Jada Crockett, Sequoia Softball: In a 7-5 victory on Half Moon Bay, the senior dominated, walked twice and scored two points. In the pitching circle, she struck 11 while the Ravens extended their sequence of victories with seven games.

Daniela Hughes, Los Altos Track and Field: Completed first in three events and second in another in the finals of the Anza Scval division. Won the 100 obstacles in 14.32 seconds after blocked a CCS 14.24 head in the tests. Also won the triple jump in 37-10 (she leads CCS at 38-10) and executed a leg on the 4 × 100 relay, which won in a 48.13 at the top of CCS. Took second place in 200 in 24.68.

Kyleigh Mace, Archbishop Mitty Softball: The junior withdrew 16 years and dispersed three strokes and two walks to help raise Mitty to a 2-1 victory at home against the Sacred Heart cathedral in a West Catholic Athletic League match. The race for the Sacred Heart Cathedral was not acquired.

Dominique Neville, Hillsdale Lacrosse: The elder scored 11 goals and five assists in victories on Castilleja, Priory and Burlingame. She started this week with 58 goals and 13 assists on the season.
