AFD defies the extremist classification precipitated by the outgoing government

The sovereign alternative on the right of Germany for the alternative party for Germany (AFD) launched a prosecution against the country's political police, even if some push the government to completely prohibit political opposition.

The deadline for the political police of Germany – established after the Second World War to protect “the liberal democratic basic order” and to prevent any deviation – from withdrawing a decision to classify the alternative for Germany (AFD) as “confirmed right extremist” or otherwise in the face of judicial actions adopted on Monday morning. AFD, which is the second political party in Germany and the official parliamentary opposition, said that the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BFV) refused to respond to their legal letter and that they therefore launched a legal action to challenge the decision to the court.

AFD had called the “obviously illegal” BFV classification and declared that it had filed a procedural request and for an urgent request to the Cologne Administrative Court, the city where the BFV is based, reports Handelsblatt.

Above all, the BFV classification means that it can spy on the party, its politicians and its without restrictions. In addition, with this stage, the discussion progressed to completely ban the second most popular party in Germany, all in the name of the protection of democracy. Opinions are shared on this subject, however, and even within the Christian Democrats in the center-right, there are voices calling for a precipitation to a ban, and others stressing that such a story only justifies the AFD campaign points that democracy is threatened.

The legal deposit against the national political police forces occurs the same day as the transfer between the outgoing left coalition government, refused by voters in February, and the coalition government led by the center-center. This moment, according to him, is not a question of coincidence, with a Released complaint by Germany Ball Journal today that the former government of the left rushed through the order to classify AFD as an extremist as one of their final acts before losing power.

The new Interior Minister, Alexander Dobrindt, who sworn Tuesday, thought that, according to this report, BFV's decision was not even examined before being promulgated, and that once in office this week, he intends to have him revised. Dobrindt said: “This report will not disappear in a binder; It will be evaluated expertly by the Federal Ministry of the Interior … [I want] The best brass of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution to present this report to me, to discuss it and explain it to me in detail ”.

The newspaper itself quoted its government sources and affirmed that this precipitation to classify AFD as an extremist was a last act of the outgoing left government – something of an inversion of the presidential pardons of the last day in the United States – and that the former Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser “pushed hard to publish the opinion of experts before the day of power” on the day of his shortage.

Although AFD cannot hope for a lot of the Docury Document exam by experts from the Interior Ministry, he is not at least a politician who wishes to completely see the country's prohibited voting threat. He has already declared that the bar for the ban on a party in Germany was high, and AFD does not meet the standard because “[an] Aggressive and militant nature ”is not present as a decisive characteristic of the party, reports Die.

He said that the use of the law to persecute the party would probably be counterproductive, pointing out: “There is a political challenge which must be resolved. I would give priority to this, not a debate on a ban … In truth, it plays in the hands of AFD and its story of history, that people no longer want this to the case.

The refuge from this point of view, among others, is the German politician Michel Friedman, who took Die Monday to accuse Anyone who votes for AFD to make a “accomplice” who must “be held responsible” to support “an anti-democratic party”. He continued: “AFD may have been democratically elected, but that does not make a Democratic Party”, recalling that “we are a resilient democracy which can initiate a procedure of prohibition if necessary. Maybe not yet. But maybe soon ”.
