Aamir Khan did not shower for more than a week to maintain continuity in Ghulam, Raakh: “I didn't want to look fresh” | Bollywood News

Aamir Khan often makes the headlines for his drastic transformations before each of his films, winning him the title of Mr. Perfectionist. In 2016, when he made his film Dangal, the Qayamat actor Se Qayamat Tak was in the news for winning around 28 kg for representing the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat. For his film Ghajini (2008), Aamir Khan created a body of six packs for his shirtless scenes when he makes tattoos of the names and messages of which he must remember the death of his lover. Now the actor explained how he did not care to shower for days to maintain the continuity of his characters in his films like Raakh (1989) and Ghulam (1998).
While speaking during a recent event, Aamir Khan said that his dedication to resembling a certain character comes from his desire to make his role in his best. “I am not me who is called perfectionist but I love it and accept it,” said Aamir Khan at the ABP Live summit.
Sharing the way he did not take a shower for days to make his characters convincing, Aamir Khan said: “When I made the second film in my career, Raakh, I did not take a shower for many days. In this film, a situation is created where I left the house and that I did not know in the streets.

“Apart from that, when I did Ghulam, I had to shoot a long action sequence for its highest point. If you see the film, I'm beaten a lot. So, as I am beaten, my injury becomes serious, I bleed. Now, if I had a shower, then the shower not to take a week to keep the same look. I didn't want to look like the new one.”
Although he went to extreme purposes to look convincing in his many characters, Aamir Khan says he does not care to train until he is demanded. He shared: “I am very unfit. I never train until I was not asked for a certain role. I am extremely lazy. As an artist, I just try to make my audience believe that the character I play is my only identity at the moment and people forget Aamir Khan. I love it when my fans call me by my characters.”
